Fellow in the Harvard Philosophy Department Michael Popejoy, is using this series to explore the relation between the thought of one of Harvard's most celebrated graduates, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and current concern for the environment. Emerson has much to offer us on this topic, both philosophically through his ideas, and aesthetically through his way of presenting them. The focus of this series is on Emerson's claims about the existence of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty in nature, and how these claims might inform our current approach to the environment. This series is made possible through the Student Sustainability Grant Program
