Harvard Art Museums Earth Day

In celebration of Earth Day and with an eye toward envisioning a more sustainable future together, join the Harvard Art Museums on Friday, April 22, from 10:30-12 pm and 1-2:30 pm to create an artwork inspired by recycled/found materials and works in the art museums’ collections. Or simply swing by to pick up some free materials. First come, first serve, as supplies are limited.

Among other things, you can learn how to make a collagraph – a versatile and eminently accessible form of printmaking that involves creating a printing plate out of a low relief collage or assemblage. They also encourage you to check out the Materials Lab at Home post about collagraphy here to learn about the process. And you can always take a leisure walk through the galleries to discover artworks made of found materials in the Harvard Art Museum's collection.

Feel free to bring some of your own materials to reimagine as art. Tell a friend to bring a friend and come with your HUID to enter through the student entrance at 480 Broadway.
