Welcome to the Harvard Green Building Resource
The Harvard Office for Sustainability (formerly Harvard Green Campus Initiative) developed this Green Building Resource website to support the implementation of Harvard’s Green Building Standards and Harvard’s Sustainability Principles. The Green Building Services team creates and submits the LEED case studies and other content, and in partnership with the Office for Sustainability maintains the website as an educational tool for the Harvard community and beyond.
The Resource documents the experience and knowledge gained from Harvard's certified and registered LEED projects. Using LEED as the accountability tool, the Resource has been designed to foster continuous improvement in cost-effective green building design. The site will be continuously updated and expanded to reflect the frontier of best practice across the University.
It is our hope that by creating and sharing this Resource, we can both support and learn from others as we all strive to meet the profound challenge of becoming an environmentally sustainable society.
NEWS UPDATE: In August 2011, Harvard became the first higher education institution in the world to reach 50 LEED certified building projects. Click here to read a story about this exciting milestone and view an interactive map of some of Harvard's LEED projects on campus.
