Manny Candeias has been a champion of Leverett Kitchen’s composting project from the start. With the help of Manny, Leverett collects almost 300 pounds of compost a day! All of this needs to be collected in a clean and safe manor then transported from Leverett to the main collection site on the loading dock of 80 JFK St.
Manny takes on the responsibility of organizing the collection barrels and then transporting the barrels during his shifts. Prior to this project, Leverett’s food waste was either tossed into a trash bag or ground in the kitchen disposal. His dedication inspires all of the team to contribute, knowing they have helped turn their waste into something that is usable & beneficial to the environment. Thank you, Manny!
