Harvard University Housing maintains a single stream recycling system making it easy for their residents to recycle. Everything goes in one bin! However, determining exactly what can go in that one bin…that’s the tricky part.
In honor of America Recycles Day on November 15, Harvard University Housing’s Sustainable Community Leaders rallied their neighbors for an afternoon of recycling awareness. Residents at 10 Akron, 5 Cowperthwaite, Peabody Terrace, One Western Avenue, Soldiers Field Park, and Cronkhite Graduate Center stopped by to ask their burning recycling questions, weigh in on how recycling can be expanded and improved at HUH, and help create Single Stream Recycling Boards to educate the masses on acceptable materials for the recycling bin. The boards were installed in the main entryways and remained on display throughout the month of November.
