At the beginning of October, the FAS Green Program held its bi-annual Lab Oriented Freecycle, and for the first time, it was held at Northwest Lab. Over the course of the day, hundreds of pounds of lab and offices supplies passed over the tables in front of Northwest, as labs cleaned out their space, and unneeded supplies found new homes in neighboring labs. Everything from media plates to pipette tips, to a full radiation suit (another first for an FAS Freecycle), were seen that day. Two researchers from the Losick Lab came away with armfuls of consumable goods that they noted would normally need to be purchased new.
The next FAS Lab Freecycle will be held in the early summer, but if you need to clean out some space, or are searching for what your lab is missing, check out our Labs Reuse List or our Reuse Room in the Biolabs.
